Community Disability Service Worker-team Leader

**PROGRAMS**: Residential
**STATUS OF EMPLOYMENT**: Permanent Full-time
**POSITION EXPECTATIONS**:
- Work with little or no supervision
- Consult with the program supervisor or designate
- Oversee daily operations of the residence, ensuring a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment
- Lead a team of frontline Community Disability Service Workers to ensure consistent, client-focused service delivery
- Facilitate staff training, development, and performance management, including scheduling and delegation of duties
- Model and promote best practices in supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities, including positive behavior support and person-centered planning
- Demonstrate flexibility and creativity to meet individual’s needs
- Follow health, safety and medication administration procedures
- Follow Individual Service Plans and Restrictive Procedures to assist individuals to meet their goals
- Participate in intake, assessment, planning, and review processes for residents
- Be a team player with a positive attitude, good communication and well developed documentation skills
- Represent VALID professionally in the community
- Attend and/or facilitate staff meetings
- Implement day to day activities
- Respond to crises, incidents, and emergencies according to established protocols
- Maintain accurate records, including staff timesheets, schedule changes, incident reports and progress notes
- Foster a positive team culture, encouraging collaboration, respect, and professional growth
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Foundations in Community Disability Studies
- Current First Aid/CPR
- Medication Administration
**REQUIREMENTS**:
- A minimum of grade 12
- Must have a valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance and be able to drive VALID owned vehicles
- Must be able to perform lifts and transfers and provide personal care
**WAGE**: As per wage grid

**Experience**:
- Support Care: 1 year (preferred)
