PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Downtown Grimsby is looking for a Content Creator - Graphic Design who will bring our stories to life through creative, high-impact visual content. This role plays a key part in telling our community’s story and amplifying our mission, values, and initiatives across both digital and print platforms. From eye-catching social media graphics to engaging event materials, this role ensures that everything we share with the public reflects our brand and makes an impact.

DETAILS:

- Pay Rate: $17.20 per hour
- Hours: 35 hours per week
- Position: Remote

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Visual Brand Consistency:

- Create and maintain a cohesive visual identity that reflects Downtown Grimsby's brand across all content and materials.
- Collaborate closely with the Executive Director and Board to ensure every piece—whether a social post, event poster, or report—reflects our community's spirit and professionalism.
- Regularly update and maintain brand guidelines and templates.

Content & Asset Creation:

- Turn complex ideas or data into clear, easy-to-understand visuals like infographics.
- Manage the full creative process from concept to completion, ensuring timely, polished deliverables.
- Assist in the planning and execution of marketing campaigns across multiple channels.

Collaboration & Communication:

- Collaborate with committees, stakeholders, and partners to understand project needs and translate them into compelling visual content.
- Present design ideas in clear, approachable language to both design and non-design audiences.
- Manage feedback and approvals to keep projects on track and aligned with brand standards.

Digital Asset Management:

- Organize and maintain a digital library of all assets for easy access and version control.
- Stay on top of design trends and tools to keep Downtown Grimsby’s look fresh and engaging.

Print & Vendor Coordination:

- Work with print vendors to select the best materials and finishes for projects.
- Oversee production timelines to ensure all print materials are delivered on time and meet quality standards.

Health & Safety:

- All employees are expected to follow Downtown Grimsby’s Health & Safety policies and participate in required training.

PROGRAMS / SOFTWARE USED:

- Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
- Figma
- Microsoft Office (training provided if needed)
- Microsoft Dynamics CRM, SharePoint, Project (training provided if needed)

QUALIFICATIONS:
**Education**:

- Currently pursuing or recently completed a diploma or degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or related field.

**Experience**:

- Some professional design experience; experience in the non-profit or community sector is an asset.

Skills & Abilities:

- Strong creative and visual storytelling abilities.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
- Portfolio that showcases a range of creative projects across digital and print.
- Clear and confident communicator, able to explain design concepts to non-designers.
- Organized and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Collaborative and open to feedback.
- Passion for community engagement and alignment with Downtown Grimsby’s mission.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
This role is funded through government programs with specific eligibility criteria. Applicants must:

- Be between 18-29 years old.
- Be currently enrolled part-time or full-time at a Canadian post-secondary institution.
- Be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- Be available for full-time work (35 hours/week) for 14 weeks.
- Identify as one or more of the following:

- Racial minority
- First-year student
- Indigenous
- Francophone
- Woman enrolled in a STEM program
- Differently abled (including mental health conditions, learning disabilities, autism, vision, hearing, physical disabilities)

Required documents upon hire:

- Government-issued ID (Birth Certificate, Passport, PR Card).
- Proof of enrollment.
- Completed TD1 & TD1ON forms.
- Direct deposit slip.
