**Your role**:
Medicago is on the lookout for its next Payroll and Benefits Analyst. This individual is responsible for administrating and processing Medicago’s Canadian payroll, benefit, and wellness programs, ensuring timeliness and accuracy. This position is under the supervision of our Director, Total Rewards and can be remote from anywhere in Canada.

**What your days would look like**:
**Payroll**
- Accurately process biweekly payrolls in a timely manner through the ADP WFN platform
- Ensure payroll is administered in compliance with applicable government regulations
- Perform actions necessary to report and determine regular and overtime pay, as well as any applicable bonus payments into employees pay cheques
- Reconcile payroll records (payments, deduction, general ledger)
- Confidentially maintain and make adjustments to employee profiles in ADP WFN to include, but not limited to pay, benefit, job changes, termination and paid time off
- Review transfer of timesheet information from ERP to ADP WFN in a timely manner
- Perform miscellaneous payroll administration including payroll deductions, loans, employment verification, garnishments, etc.
- Prepares relevant financial/payment report (REER, RPDB, etc.)
- Balance all relevant year-end tax forms (T4, R1, etc.)
- Work with internal and external auditors
- Answer questions from employees regarding payroll matters
- Liaise with third party vendors, Finance and/or government agencies on payroll related concerns

**Benefits**
- Benefits plan administration (e.g., retirement, life insurance, disability, accident coverage, medical/dental/vision/prescription drugs, job-related perquisites, wellness programs, etc.)
- New hire enrollments and terminations
- Address benefit inquiries to ensure timely and accurate resolution
- Rate renewals updates in HR system
- Coordinate and conduct the new employee onboarding process
- Facilitate the onboarding benefits training session
- Create the new hire profiles in the HR System
- Fulfill all governmental regulatory mandates and ensures any filings are performed as required
- Process monthly billings from providers. Reviews billings for accuracy and approves for payment in a timely manner.

**Required profile**:

- You have advanced knowledge of payroll and benefits
- You have strong French skills and intermediate English skills (spoken and written)
- You have experience with processing payroll in Canada, specifically in Quebec
- You have knowledge of benefit plans and benefit and wellness administration
- You master the Office Suite skills, especially with Excel
- You excel in time management and organizational skills with the ability to efficiently prioritize and multi-task
- You have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- You have solid analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot system errors
