**Curriculum-Based Instruction**

Weekly ELA lessons aligned with Alberta high school curriculum (ELA 10-1 / 20-1 / 30-1), focusing on reading comprehension, literary analysis, and writing skills.
- **Essay Writing Coaching**

Guide students in mastering **Critical Literary Essays** and **Personal Responses**, using standardized structures and scoring rubrics based on diplomas.
- **Textual Analysis**

Facilitate in-depth study of texts, including short stories, poems, plays, and non-fiction, helping students understand themes, characters, and rhetorical devices.
- **Assessment & Feedback**

Design quizzes, mini-assignments, and mock exams; provide individual feedback to help students track their progress and improve writing clarity and depth.
- **Differentiated Support**

Provide tailored instruction for ESL or struggling students, addressing vocabulary, grammar, and logical flow in comprehension and expression.
- **Exam Preparation**

Prepare for ELA 30-1 Diploma Exams through practice exams, time management strategies, and answer breakdowns based on official scoring criteria.
- **Classroom Engagement**

Maintain a supportive and structured learning environment that encourages participation, critical thinking, and respectful discussion of literary topics.
- **Parent & Program Communication**

Provide periodic updates to the coordinator or parents (if applicable), summarizing attendance, participation, and progress.
