- **Duties & Responsibilities**-
- **RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Develop and deliver innovative lectures, assignments and assessments.
- Develop and deliver current and innovative laboratory experiments and techniques.
- Liaise with students when necessary.
**Qualifications**-
- **QUALIFICATIONS**:
- MSc degree in a related field, with a PhD preferable.
- Strong theoretical and technical background in microbiology, specifically microbial genetics, and molecular biology are required.
- Current knowledge of immunology, virology and bacterial pathogenesis is also desirable.
- Teaching experience in microbiology or a related life sciences discipline is preferred.
- Technical experience with bacterial cell culture, bacterial transformation and molecular biology techniques such as PCR and agarose gel electrophoresis is required.
- Technical experience operating fermenters, working with RNA and knowledge of _in vitro_ transcription are considered assets.
- Experience with DNA/RNA sequence analysis and molecular biology software (eg. SnapGene) is required.
- Experience with quantitative image analysis software (eg. ImageJ) is considered an asset.
- Good understanding of the biotechnology industry and recent industry experience are preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in the English language.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
