Kennel Attendant

Playful Paws Pet Center is excited to announce that we're currently seeking full time & part-time employees with daytime & weekend availability at both our in city location. If you're a passionate animal lover and would like to work with them hands on then this may be the right fit for you. We're a busy doggy daycare/boarding/grooming facility located in Sutherland, Saskatoon. Pets are brought to us knowing that we provide them with love, fun and a safe environment.
- Someone who has the ability to maintain a playgroup either on their own or assisted. This means keeping them calm, but playful, and clean.
- Able to lift 30-50lbs, and to be physically active your whole shift.
- Dependable. Working with live animals you must show up for your expected shifts and show up ready to actively work.
- Experienced, animal care and handling is very important, prior knowledge or experience is ideal.
- Patient, some dogs are noisy, some stubborn, some haven’t been taught certain things. You must be level headed and keep a calm atmosphere.
- Quick learning. Knowing dogs names, behaviours and owners is very beneficial for you and other employees working with you.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Must have knowledge of basic animal care and handling techniques and be comfortable with all dog/cat sizes, breeds and temperaments.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment

What to expect:

- Supervise and engage with pets in play groups.
- Prepare, administer, and sign off on feeding instructions.
- Note any unusual behaviours or symptoms and communicate effectively
- Keep assigned group area clean of any waste from dogs, spot cleaning as necessary.
- Ensure safe play among dogs, always paying attention to what is going on in the parks.
- Follow cleaning duties set out by Shift Supervisor, signing off when complete. (Cleaning duties include, but are not limited to; sweeping, mopping, wiping, heavy lifting, dusting, laundry, scrubbing)
- Follow instruction as well as task guides.

**Salary**: From $14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 - 32 per week
