Neecheewam Inc. has **a Full-Time position** available, at Strong Heart Healing Lodge Shifts are Sunday to Thursday 3pm to 11pm. The CSU is a secure, short-term four-bed crisis intervention program for females of all nations up to age 17. The CSU works in partnership with StreetReach, WPS to provide a safe place for females who are identified as at risk of sexual exploitation. This unit offers a safe, nurturing non-punitive environment for youth that are feeling overwhelmed, stressed, or unable to cope. Examples of crises to which we handle and deal with are AWOL Tendencies, Drug/Alcohol Abuse, Sexual Exploitation.

c) Encouraging and supporting the children and youth we work with in acquiring the knowledge, skills, and confidence to transition into responsible, productive adults.

**Key** **Responsibilities/ Duties**:
Aware of the whereabouts of all residents always, as per program dictates and policies.

Assist with wake-up and bed-time routines.

Manage and direct all daily program activities.

Transport residents to appointments (medical & other) and any activities as required.

Direction and participation in daily chores.

Assist the residents in planning for recreational activities.

Active involvement with residents in activities within the facility and in the community.

Encourage and assist with individual resident interest in lessons in sports, music, or other endeavors.

Assist in planning for meals and grocery shopping.

Meal preparation-cooking and baking.

Teaching the residents about nutrition and healthy eating habits.

Participate at staff meetings and other meetings as requested.

Review all provincial program and licensing standards and assist with their implementation in the program.

Provide input into all documentation, record keeping and report writing as required.

Involvement in learning opportunities and development of an attitude that promotes a relevance for learning in young people.

Develop an attitude that promotes positive teamwork and exhibits a high degree of positive role-modeling for young people.

**Key Qualifications Required**:
Child & Youth Care Diploma preferred. Experience working with children, at-risk and sexually exploited youth. Education of youth with addiction, substance abuse and trauma.

Knowledge and appreciation of the Indigenous Culture, Traditions and Seven Sacred Teachings. Strong knowledge of the issues affecting our children, families, and communities.

Knowledge of the impacts of colonization and intergenerational trauma.

Have demonstrated leadership qualities and must be able to work independently and as a valued team member and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to conduct oneself in a professional capacity when dealing with all CFS Agencies or any other related external organizations.

Organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills are necessary and possess a high level of advocacy skills.

Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be confident in decision making.

Valid Winnipeg Police Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse Registry Check, and Prior Contact Check are required.

Valid First Aid/CPR required.

Valid Driver’s License an asset.
