Director, Security - Mergers, Acquisitions and Divestitures

**Description:
- Permanent Full Time- We are looking for a **_Director of Security - Mergers, Acquisitions & Divestitures._**

Reporting to the AVP, Program Management and Governance, Canada Life, the Director of Security Mergers, Acquisitions and Divestitures (MADs) for Canada Life will align, manage and co-ordinate the Information Security activities, services, capabilities impacted.-
**What you will do**
- Lead an information security MAD strategy and process for Canada Life and collaborate with Business, and Technology Leadership on the process integration to overall Technology MAD Strategy
- Liaise with a target company's finance/accounting departments and advisors to gather pertinent accounting support
- Manage accounting due diligence pertaining to targets for acquisition
- Coordinating and supporting integration planning, tracking and processes for mergers, asset or company divestitures or acquisitions and related advisory services
- Developing and maintaining relationships with potential targets from initial stage to deal closing, then manage integration mid and long term phases
- Lead security stream in developing proposals to senior management for mergers, asset or company divestitures or acquisitions and related advisory services
- Lead Initial technology reconnaissance includes understanding what services are provided by whom in the IT organization.
- Experience in managing subsidiaries and advisory networks to identify principles of proportion concerning governance, risk, and compliance in alignment to Canada Life risk posture
- Enable efficient and effective collaboration of employees across both organizations.
- Lead IT governance includes communicating with IT vendors, reviewing existing IT contracts in detail, and identifying ways to reduce IT expenses. It also includes a review of all IT initiatives in the acquired company to decide whether they are still required or should be cancelled.
- Partner with business leaders and designated stakeholders to ensure that technology systems are secured, managed, operated and designed to minimize risk
- Act as the primary point of contact to design the target state of IT for the integrated company to align with the existing **IT strategy** of the organization. Defining the future target technology state must span across all security operations.
- Ensure timely engagement of functional IT support leads to considerable savings in the mid-to-long term due to reduced IT expenses related to sunsetting solutions and optimized licensing in the integrated company.
- Responsible for financial management of annual operating and initiative expenses
- Develops effective operational and managerial reporting to enable effective aggregated cyber risk management and monitoring by the business.
- Ensure Canada Life achieves target operational state aligned to regulatory requirements and risk appetites.

**What you will bring**
- 5+ years’ experience as a technology leader in financial services, preferably in insurance, or a holding company where MADs are a core aspect of the business model
- 5+ years’ experience leading assurance of security practices specifically aligned to governance, risk, and compliance of mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures
- Skilled leader with exceptional communication abilities, collaboration and relationship building skills establishing credibility and fostering cross-functional relationships
- Experience building and working in matrix and complex organizations with demonstrated ability to influence teams where resources do not all report directly into the function
- Proven Strategic thinking skills, with a long-term outlook and the ability to drive results to improve business unit performance and create a culture of accountability
- Relevant Information Security Certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CISM, SANS GIAC (preferred)
- Relevant Certifications such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Lean Six Sigma are preferred
- Relevant Certifications in ITIL, COBIT, CRISC (preferred)
- Working knowledge of Information Security programs including, but not limited to: Data Security, Network Security, Application Security, Cloud Security, Secure Software Development Lifecycle, Identity Access & Management, Incident Management, Vulnerability Assessment, Technology Risk Assessment process, Information Security Management System (ISMS) adoption, etc.
- Knowledge of cloud deployment models and associated security risks

**Given the size and scope of our organization, we have the flexibility for this position to be located in the following head office locations: Toronto, London, Winnipeg.**
- The base salary for this position is between **$89,800****:
