EveryMind (formerly Peel Children's Centre) is looking for a highly skilled, experienced and enthusiastic mental health professional to provide case management and systems consultation to preschool children and their families. Infant, Child, Youth, and Family Counselling 0 to 6 is a preschool and family-focused, in-home service designed for children with serious mental health needs and their families who would not otherwise make use of traditional children’s mental health services and are experiencing a multitude of stressors.

EveryMind is an accredited children’s mental health centre that provides a continuum of high quality mental health services for children, youth and their families who are experiencing social, emotional and/or behavioral challenges.

Reporting to the Supervisor, Clinical Services, the Child and Family Clinician will assist parents to support the social, emotional, and psychological development of their infant or child. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, the Clinician will provide overall case management, systems consultation and collaboration for assigned cases. Utilizing knowledge of child development, attachment, and common behavioural problems; the Clinician will support families by providing both brief and long term counselling.

**Salary - 5-step range of $68,965 - $80,680 over 5 years**

Please note that hiring salaries are commensurate with experience and generally start at the beginning of the range.

**Responsibilities**:
The incumbent will:

- Provide skilled assessment, formulation, and treatment services to children and their families/caregivers by employing a variety of systemic and evidence-based/evidenced-informed treatment approaches (including CBT, Motivational Interviewing) to enhance parent/family and child interactions and functioning at home, in school, and in community
- Develop, implement and regularly evaluate treatment plans according to individual client and family/caregiver needs, goals, strengths and cultural values
- Identify and attempt to resolve issues impeding the effective implementation of a treatment plan in a timely manner
- Facilitate the enhancement of the child and family’s informal and formal supports
- Effectively design and implement a holistic crisis plan to ensure safety within the home/school/community settings
- Provide case management services to ensure coordination and delivery of services that meet changing needs of clients and families; with a commitment to client centred service utilizing a strength-based approach
- Facilitate child and family team group process to ensure it is collaborative and focused on the strengths, priorities and treatment goals of the child and family
- Provide transition support and discharge planning to clients exiting service to ensure sustainability of treatment gains
- Collaborate with other professionals and community resources to ensure effective service delivery on behalf of each client
- Maintain comprehensive case records and data for all clients in accordance with the Centre’s standards and timelines
- Maintain a high level of clinical competence, participating in professional/program development, clinical training opportunities and staff training and remain current in the knowledge of and adhere to agency policies and procedures as well as relevant legislation
