**Overview**
Reporting to the Director of Housing Support, 1-2-1 Peer Outreach worker/ Warmline (Term) will be responsible for the delivery of Peer Support services in the community as well as answering phone calls, while meeting the Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities of the Organization. Scheduling will vary according to the program’s needs. This is a bilingual position in both official languages.

**Required Qualifications and Abilities**
- Declaration of their own personal lived experience of a diagnosed mental health
- A level of recovery necessary to effectively provide mental health support to others
- The ability to consistently demonstrate discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism
- Working knowledge of mental health issues
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and/or French
- Valid Social Insurance Number, legally entitled to work in Manitoba, and between the ages of 18 and 29
- Satisfactory Employment Record
- Current and satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Adult and Child Abuse Registry Checks
- Experience in computer programs i.e. Microsoft Office, Outlook
- Acute sense of discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism
- Kind and caring demeanor and professional behavior that fosters peer/client relationships
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Complete Applied Suicide Intervention Skills (ASIST) and Online PHIA Training
- A personal cell phone is required for this position to ensure safety in the community.

**Preferred Qualifications and Abilities**
- Understand the importance of Peer Support to mental health and wellness recovery
- Accurately navigate and implement the entry of information to the database
- Knowledge and comfort in navigating and scheduling Winnipeg Transit routes
- An unbiased understanding of the mental health system and the resources available
- Ability to function in a demanding and stressful environment
- Good critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Demonstrated ability to work with mínimal supervision
- Be able to successfully demonstrate dependability and reliability.

**1-2-1 Peer Outreach Duties and Responsibilities**
- **Scheduling Visits: The Warmline/ 1-2-1 Peer Outreach worker will**:_
- Complete availability schedule bi-weekly
- Update the Director of Housing Support or designate of any changes to availability
- Be available to accept communication from the Director of Housing Support or designate to schedule visits based upon indicated availability
- Log into the “1-2-1 Peer Outreach” Database to review the waitlist of interested participant
- Contact participants and schedule appointments for that day
- Confirm information with the participant (time, location, etc.)
- Contact the participant 1 hour before the scheduled visit to confirm the visit
- **Visiting in the Community: The 1-2-1 Peer Outreach worker will**:_
- Attend the scheduled visit on time, look for the recognition information.
- Greet the participant asking for confirmation of their name.
- Once confirmed, introduce yourself and greet the participant in a warm and inviting manner, letting them know how happy you are that they agreed to the visit, and get an idea of how they might like to spend the time you have together.
- Let the participant take the lead, but do not be surprised if you need to prompt and probe using open-ended questions (in such a way that builds connection and trust with the participant).

**Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities to Sara Riel Inc.**

**Represent the Mission, Vision and Values of Sara Riel Inc.**
- Respond to requests for information and orient new and potential Service Recipients and referral sources to Sara Riel Inc. admission requirements and program guidelines.
- Demonstrate a positive role model in all internal and external interactions, maintaining rapport with referral sources, to build a strong network of external resources, and facilitate intake
- Prepare for, attend and participate in all appointments, staff, team and case meetings and attend training, conferences and/or expositions as a representative of Sara Riel Inc.

**Provide Support and Services with Administrative Related Duties**
- Provide support and services under a person-centered, recovery care model in accordance with to the self-identified needs of the Service Recipient.
- Document all relevant information and generate clear, concise and accurate reports detailing significant interactions; and provides oral summarizations at shift changes; gather and record all statistical information necessary for program delivery and evaluation.
- Other duties as assigned and in accordance with outlined policies, procedures and guidelines

**Ensure the Well-Being and Safety of the Service Recipients and the Property**
- Perform routine walk-throughs of the property; identify and take action to correct or minimize any safety risks; communicate any maintenance needs to the Team Lead or designate.
