**About You**

You are a detailed, organized, passionate, caring and service-oriented individual. You will act as a coordinator, facilitator, accelerator, communicator and central hub for the many and diverse activities of the association. You will also take responsibility for ensuring that organizational processes are run effortlessly and efficiently. Working closely with the membership and senior leadership, you will be the driving force behind many initiatives at Landscape Ontario.

Landscape Ontario Horticultural Trades Association (LO) was established over 40 years ago with a mandate to promote and advance the Landscape and Horticulture industry through leadership, community, professionalism and stewardship. **About the role you’ll play**

The membership engagement specialist at Landscape Ontario is an integral part of the membership team. Working as an advocate for members to help them leverage the full potential of their membership, all while engaging with industry professionals to help them understand the true value of membership with Landscape Ontario. The membership engagement specialist works closely with members, committees, chapters, sector groups and the events team to drive the advancement of the landscape horticulture profession. Working closely with the membership team and senior leadership, the membership engagement specialist is an important member of the team carrying out a wide variety of responsibilities. This full-time position will work out of our newly renovated office in Milton, ON complete with a massive living wall. We currently have a hybrid model of working in the office and from home.

**What you’ll be doing**
- Collecting data, key membership metrics, and preparing reports.
- Promote organization to prospective members and encourage current members toleverage their membership to the fullest.
- Handling all questions, information requests, and complaints regarding membership.
- Developing and implementing strategies to recruit new members and retain existing ones.
- Manage communication with members, writing newsletters, responding to questions, andcarrying out surveys.
- Preparing membership marketing materials.
- Work with Membership teammates to align priorities and activities.
- Represent Landscape Ontario at meetings and events.
- Assisting with member communication activities.
- Coordinating with the accounting department to track membership numbers and revenue.
- Organizing events and activities for existing and prospective members.
- Supporting the activities of the Director of Membership and Executive Director

**Membership Engagement Coordinator Requirements**
- Experience working with not-for-profit membership teams, chapters, committees, and boards.
- Interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with various stakeholders, including staff, membership, volunteer committees and Board of Directors.
- Strong organizational skills paired with the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Demonstrated resourcefulness and problem-solving skills.
- Detail oriented and demonstrated strong work ethic.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Superior customer service skills.
- Ability to think creatively and take initiative.
- Excellent writing and editing skills.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace
- Experience with member data sytems
- Experience in organizing and hosting virtual meetings and events
- Highly organized.
- University degree preferred.

Landscape horticulture or related industry experience considered an asset.

**About this position**
- Permanent, full-time
- Some evenings or weekend work as required to complete projects or events.
- This position requires occasional travel within the province of Ontario.
- Reports to the Director of Membership of Landscape Ontario
