Chilliwack, Canada Strohmaier Excavating (2019) Ltd. Full time

The Civil Construction Foreman for Strohmaier Excavating (2019) Ltd. is responsible for managing crews and equipment to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and on budget. The Foreman will have sufficient working knowledge of blueprints and construction contract documents as well as experience in road work, earthworks, and underground utilities. This position provides guidance, support, and exceptional leadership to work crews on a daily basis.

**Key Responsibilities and Duties**

The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

- Supervising the daily activities of a construction site in a safe and productive manner
- Coordination of daily activities with supervisors, project managers, engineering professionals, and clientele
- Proficiently work with blueprints to layout and execute all types of excavations
- Follow a budget and set plans to complete work projects
- Proper assessment of material requirements
- Supervising the grading, bedding, and backfilling of all types of excavations
- Supervise crews on civil construction projects
- Conduct site checks prior to beginning of projects
- Assist with the planning, coordinating and scheduling preparations of crews and/or subcontractors
- Enforce and adhere to all Safety and environmental standards, regulations, and company policies

**Requirements and Qualifications**
- 4+ years proven experience in supervising work crews in civil construction
- 5+ additional years proven work experience in a civil construction work environment
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s license. Class 3 or 1 would be an asset
- Knowledge and understanding of safe work practices pertaining to municipal and utility-based construction
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and contract documents
- Demonstrated Project Management skills
- First Aid certification

*The Civil Construction Foreman is required to have and maintain a valid BC driver’s license and hold an acceptable driver’s abstract.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $45.00-$50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Additional pay:
