Our Camrose, Alberta Manufacturing Facility is looking for a **Purchaser **to support our growing business.

Perma-Pipe Canada, Ltd. is a dynamic, global supplier of pipe coating solutions and factory pre-insulated piping systems to the oil & gas, district heating and cooling and industrial markets.

**OVERVIEW**:

- The Purchaser will coordinate their efforts with manufacturing, warehouse and store supervisors in order to oversee and manage all aspects of the supply chain
- Utilize expert knowledge to purchase goods and services that meet quality requirements and specifications at the most favorable price for the company, while simultaneously building and maintaining strategic relationships with key suppliers
- Responsible for vendor identification, vendor and contract negotiations, assist with the preparation of proposals (RFQs), technical bid evaluations and all procurement activities

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the purchasing activities of the organization
- Identify vendors of materials, equipment or supplies
- Audit and address all potential risks within the Supply Chain
- Analyze spend and find savings opportunities
- Qualify sources of supply
- Communicate, monitor and manage compliance with sourcing strategy and business process.
- Develop and implement strategies for procuring goods at a medium to high risk
- Seek to improve capabilities of the supply base and key business processes
- Negotiate or oversee the negotiation of purchase contracts
- Participate in the development of specifications for equipment, products or substitute materials
- Prepare and administer bids, requests for quote, requests for proposal, requests for information, and other vendor documentation
- Manage service level agreements, scope of work, and contract terms with service providers
- Report to departments and business units of lead time required to obtain products or services
- Make alternate arrangements in the event of shortages or delayed deliveries to minimize impact on the organization.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- 5 or more years of related experience
- Post-Secondary Degree in Commerce, Business or a related field an asset
- Excellent contract/negotiation skills, writing and communications skills; able to represent the company in Supplier meetings
- Excellent analytical skills
