**Position Summary**
We are seeking a Safety Compliance Manager to join our team. This critical role will involve overseeing and enhancing our safety and compliance programs, ensuring that Modern Landfill Inc. adheres to all federal and provincial regulations related to the trucking industry. This position is responsible with the compliance, record keeping, reporting, training, and auditing as it relates to employee safety. This individual will ensure that the company remains in good standing with all federal, state, and local regulations as they pertain to the Occupation Safety and Health Administration and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.
**Major Areas of Accountability**
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal safety policies.
- Manage and coordinate responses to incidents, including accidents and safety breaches, liaising with regulatory bodies as required.
- Oversee the licensing and registration of our fleet, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Develop and submit detailed reports on health, safety, and environmental (HSE) matters to regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with various departments to foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement across the company.
- Stay updated with industry developments and regulatory changes, implementing necessary modifications to internal policies.
- Manage and prepare for both internal and external safety audits, including the COR Audit process.
**Education and Experience**
- 3-5 years of experience in safety and compliance within the trucking, logistics, or related industry.
- Exposure to Ministry of Transport (MTO) regulations and requirements.
- Proven ability in claims management, including familiarity with insurance processes.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to maintain high attention to detail and organization.
- Ability to work well as a team member.
- Strong skills in effective oral, written, interpersonal and listening, including the ability to communicate technical information to nontechnical personnel.
- Skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
