**What you’ll do**

Position Title: SAP iXp Intern - Data Scientist

Location: Vancouver, BC

Expected Start Date: January 2026

Contract Duration: 8 months

Work Hours: 40 hours per week

The SAP Vancouver Labs is offering a paid research and innovation internship starting January 2026 for an 8 months period (with an option to extend by 4 months). We are looking for innovative graduate and undergraduate students who are excited about pushing the state of the art in technology legal compliance tools, pattern detection & classification and data analytics by drawing on research in **generative AI,** **machine learning, natural language processing, data mining, information visualization** and other related areas.

We are located in beautiful Vancouver in the heart of Yaletown, steps away from a wide variety of restaurants, public transit, and downtown.
- Develop and extend tools used in Technology Legal Compliance
- Follow up on latest trends and share the knowledge among the team
- Participate in project meetings to support project goals, requirements, processes, deliverables, and timelines

**What you bring**

We’re looking for someone who takes initiative, perseveres, and stay curious. You like to work on meaningful innovative projects and are energized by lifelong learning.

Education: Undergraduate, Master’s or PhD student in Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Machine Learning, Data Science, or Mathematics/Statistics.

Eligibility: Must be currently enrolled, or recently graduated (start date must be within 6 months of graduation date) from a coding academy/bootcamp, apprenticeship, associate, bachelor’s, master’s or JD/PhD program.

**Requirements**:

- Strong research, analytical, and software prototyping skills
- Proficient knowledge of Python
- Working knowledge of prompt engineering
- Commitment to 8-month full-time internship

**Desired**:

- Familiarity with using computer programming languages such as Java and C++
- Familiarity with deep learning and neural network frameworks (e.g., Pytorch, TensorFlow)
- Familiarity with using data analysis tools (e.g., SciPy, Pandas), ML technologies (e.g., scikit-learn, MLflow) and latest developments in Generative AI (e.g., LLMs)
- Experience developing user interfaces with HTML5, CSS and Javascript
