This is your chance to play an essential role: building the story of Pearson’s transformation and engaging meaningfully with a range of critical stakeholders to build trust and support for organizational mandates and priorities. **Position Summary**: Reporting directly to the CEO, the Director, CEO Office is a pivotal role in orchestrating program coordination, interfacing and collaborating with the executive team, and providing advisory regarding the priorities of the CEO. Their role encompasses supporting executive meetings, communications, strategic planning, and serving as a conduit to boost corporate efficacy. The Director will act as a leader of the CEO office and serve as an “air traffic controller” for critical strategic initiatives and decisions required by the CEO. This role will provide guidance to the CEO office staff, spearhead strategic projects, and certify the currency of CEO's policies and protocols. Moreover, the Director collaborates with the Board office to synchronize enterprise activities with CEO's strategic imperatives. Possessing adeptness in navigating high-stakes, multifaceted priorities, the Director excels in devising innovative solutions and thrives on change and continual improvement. **As Director, CEO Office, you will**: - Build relationships crucial to the success of the CEO office and plan and manage the flow of activities, projects, initiatives, and communication at a high volume internally and with external partners - Participate as an adjunct member of the Executive Team including planning, attending, meetings and retreats, scheduling and agenda development, facilitating to keep on schedule, providing meeting summaries and tracking action items - Communicate directly with Board Directors, industry Executives, Stakeholders, Government Officials, and others, on matters related to CEO's priorities including STRAP, business deals, personnel, and decision-making - Aggregate working plans from each of the business units; identifying commonality, gaps, etc. and function as an advisor/internal consultant to business units on aligning various areas of work and projects to the CEO’s priorities - Anticipate and advise on priorities and create roadmaps to ensure they are being addressed through follow up with action owners and stakeholders - Work closely and optimally with the CEO to keep her well informed on issues and concerns addressed to the CEO as well as upcoming commitments and responsibilities related to the organization’s strategic priorities - Act as a "barometer", having a sense for the issues taking place in the work environment and keeping the CEO updated appropriately - Organize CEO initiatives and appearances, including townhalls, conferences, interviews etc. - Support the production of presentations, briefings, and communications materials for the CEO - Monitor the CEO’s online/social media presence - Provide a bridge for smooth communication between the CEO's office and internal departments; demonstrating leadership to maintain credibility, trust, and support with Senior Leadership to front line employees - Model the GTAA leadership behaviours; and coach, mentor and develop individuals on their team **This is a chance to be at the forefront of history at Toronto Pearson. To do so, you will bring**: - Post-secondary degree/diploma - 7+ years as a department leader, Chief of Staff or Senior Level Business Partner - 7+ years’ experience in a fast-paced, complex environment with multiple sub committees of the Board of Directors, and a large Executive team - Business degree or MBA; and Industry experience in aviation, airline and transportation are considered an asset - Valid Ontario G Driver’s License - Ability to obtain and retain Transportation Security Clearance **At Toronto Pearson, we value a wide range of experience.
