**About Us**:City Cinema is Charlottetown’s cozy, independent movie theatre with the best buttery popcorn in town, run by the Charlottetown Film Society. We’re a community space that screens great films and hosts private rentals — and we’re looking for a friendly, reliable person to join our small team

**Position Overview**: This is a casual/part-time, entry-level position ideal for someone who enjoys film, has flexible availability, and is looking to pick up a few extra hours each month. You’ll be trained to run the canteen, operate the projector, and support rental screenings.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Sell snacks and drinks using our point-of-sale system
- Operate the digital projector (training provided)
- Open and close the cinema for rental events
- Light cleaning and restocking
- Complete end-of-shift POS reports and manage cash
- Use basic math for transactions and reporting
- Problem-solve and work independently
- Keep the space tidy and welcoming
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting patrons, taking orders, and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with restocking supplies as needed.

**Requirements**:

- Must be of legal age to serve alcohol in PEI
- Must hold a valid Responsible Beverage Server certificate (or be willing to obtain one — employer will cover the cost)
- Flexible availability between 9:00 AM and 11:00 PM, including weekdays and weekends
- Available to start right away

**Skills & Qualifications**:

- Passion for film and community spaces
- Comfortable using technology (POS system, projector)
- Basic math skills and attention to detail
- Good time management and reliability
- Physically able to climb stairs to access the projection booth
- Able to work independently and problem-solve on the spot
- Previous experience in food service or customer service is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact positively with customers and team members.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Basic knowledge of food safety practices is a plus.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights as necessary.
- A friendly demeanour and a willingness to learn are essential for success in this role.

**Hours & Pay**:

- Estimated 15-40 hours per month, depending on rental bookings
- Shifts are typically 3-4 hours long
- Pay: $17/hour + tips
