**Career Options**

A career at EPS means pursuing a career with 100+ possible positions. While all new members begin as patrol constables, many choose to continue their careers in Community Policing. There are also opportunities in community engagement, investigations, operational support, specialized services, and more. Additionally, you can pursue promotion paths into senior ranks. **Minimum Requirements**

To become an EPS officer, the most important qualification is a sincere desire to help others. We look for individuals driven by compassion, community, and a dedication to service. In addition to these personal qualities, applicants must also meet the necessary legal minimum requirements:

- No criminal conviction for which a pardon has not been granted
- In excellent health with no impending conditions
- Must meet visual and hearing examination standards
- Grade 12 high school diploma (Alberta standard) or equivalent; for International Applicants, an IQAS certificate or WES certificate is required
- Good written and verbal skills in English
- Two years of recent and verifiable employment, and/or two years of post-secondary education
- Valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s license
- Good driving record (maximum of five demerits)
- Current certificate in standard first aid
- Current “Level C” certificate in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
- Standards equivalent to those of the Canadian/American Heart and Stroke Foundation

**Constable Salary Range**

1st Year Constable - $76,291

2nd Year Constable - $80,843

3rd Year Constable - $94,512

4th Year Constable - $103,619

5th Year Constable - $113,869

*Earning potential increases with: court time, extra duty, shift differentials, overtime and stat holidays

**Application Process**

Pay: $76,291.00-$113,869.00 per year
