** Job Summary**

** Here is what a typical day looks like**
- Preparation of proposals and cost estimates; according to established deadlines, consistent with specific quality, customer, and legislation standards.
- Review and understand customer SOWs for scope and timing.
- Consultation with mechanical engineering, controls engineering, and manufacturing departments during the concepting and costing processes to develop automation solutions and accurate cost estimates.
- Works to continuously improve the methods utilized within the estimating department, with the goals being innovative and cost-effective solutions, mitigate scope confusion, decreasing proposal lead times, increased estimate accuracy, and increased efficiency.
- Work in a team environment with Sales, Estimating, Project Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Management to assist in the successful execution of projects.
- Assist sales in follow-up with customer regarding status of proposal, updates, technical explanation.
- Attend internal kick off meetings (line up meetings) for new projects to receive an understanding of the scope of the project.
- Liaise with customers for technical information and specifications
- Liaise with suppliers to obtain accurate equipment information and quotes.
- Ensure estimate data is properly entered in Reko CRM
- Participate in post project review meetings to compare what was quoted against the completed project.
- Some travelling will be required for customer presentations and meetings

** The value you bring to our company**
- Must possess post-secondary education in a relevant technical program, with experience specializing in machine automation design and/or machine automation control systems.
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience in an automation estimating role combined with design and/or project management
- Strong problem-solving skills, keen understanding of material and labour costs, with the ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Capable of presenting convincing concepts in a professional manner to internal and external customers
- Capable of using SolidWorks to create machine concepts and model new automation systems considered an asset.
- Experience with Siemens Process Simulate, RobotMaster or other types of 3D simulation software would be considered an asset
