As a Diagnostic Sonographer, you will work in the general ultrasound department, the ECHO lab, and the Maternal Fetal Medicine clinic. Conduct a range of standardized and complex ultrasound services essential for diagnosing and monitoring diseases and pathologies. Your duties will include preparing patients for examinations, reviewing medical histories, interpreting procedures, capturing high-quality diagnostic ultrasound images, and taking initial steps to address abnormal findings. As a Diagnostic Sonographer, your role will extend to assisting in diagnosis, clinical interventions, and patient management, all while upholding a high standard of patient care and safety.
Description:
As a Diagnostic Sonographer I, you will perform a variety of standardized and complex ultrasound services for the diagnosis and tracking of disease and pathology. Your responsibilities include preparing the patient for examination, reviewing patient history, explaining procedures, obtaining ultrasound images of diagnostic quality, and takes initial action to resolve abnormal findings. You will assist with diagnosis, clinical intervention and patient management all while ensuring a high level of patient care and safety. Your work may include assisting Radiologists and Cardiologists, Perinatologists and other medical staff with special procedures where required.

**Required Qualifications**:
Completion of extended diploma from an accredited ultrasound program or completion of certification in Diagnostic Sonography from an accredited program. Active or eligible for registration with Sonography Canada and/or Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic & Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT and/or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).
