Luma is hiring a Compositing Supervisor to join the team in Vancouver

The Compositing Supervisor is responsible for leading and managing a team of Compositors while helping to define efficient techniques to turn abstract and complex ideas into well executed visual effects shots of the highest standard possible. In this position the Comp supervisor works closely with the visual effects supervisor and the producer to ensure all the compositing needs for the project are met.

**YOU CAN**:

- Composite both digital and live action elements to create groundbreaking visual effects shots for feature films
- Set up a show color pipeline per client specifications.
- Match color, lighting and exposure of rendered CG or photographed elements with plate photography
- Execute 2D and 3D Tracks, extract and integrate mattes, layer elements and grade color
- Grain and de-grain when necessary along with paint fixes and rotoscoping
- Oversee show templates including: camera properties, keying and 2D elements
- Oversee sequence color continuity
- Review artist work and provide technical and aesthetic feedback in a constructive manner.
- Mentor and train your team to grow their craft using the latest techniques Collaborate with fellow Supervisors from other disciplines to meet challenging production deadlines
- Breakdown and estimate project requirements, work closely with Production and Supervision to layout and plan resources.
- Liaise with Artist Management and Production to manage and cultivate artist’s professional development offering performance feedback and mentorship.
- Help to build morale, team camaraderie and an overall enjoyable work environment
- Participate in the recruiting, hiring and training of new members of the team.

**YOU HAVE**:

- At least seven years of experience in node based Compositing on feature films
- At least one year of experience in a Supervisor role or three or more titles as a Lead Compositor
- A mastery of all things Nuke An in depth understanding of stereo (3D) and anamorphic compositing in Nuke
- A proven proficiency in 3D multi-pass rendering techniques
- A strong aesthetic eye for photo realism and color space concepts Excellent communication, leadership and problem solving skills
- A team oriented mentality with a 'get it done' attitude
- An ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment
- An ability to take direction and implement feedback with a positive attitude Some Maya experience (preferred but not required)
