We currently have an opening for the role of Shop Foreman in our Red Deer branch. The Foreman is a hub of communication and direction for Technicians, Service Advisors, Customers, Parts Departments, and all other participants in shop operations. Reporting to the Service Manager, the Foreman acts as a “second” to the Service Manager and makes many key decisions throughout the day.

This role needs to be filled by a person with technical knowhow, customer satisfaction motivation, and excellent communication and organizational skills. With new systems continuing to be implemented, it is imperative that this person be willing to adapt and change their methods based on what technology is available.

**Duties include, but are not limited to**:

- Technician supervision
- Job allocation
- Coach, teach, and train technicians
- Provide feedback to technicians on the quality and efficiency of their work practices
- Provide technical knowhow to technicians as able
- Organize schedules and repair plans
- Be aware of current campaigns or recalls including best practices
- Work with the Service Advisors to provide the customer will all needed information to make good decisions
- Speak directly with customers as needed to explain any ongoing issues
- Use systems (CDK, Decisiv, others) to keep adequate notes on all ROs, always planning for the unexpected
- Maintain a clean and safe shop environment
- Ensure proper tooling is available and organized for technicians to perform their duties efficiently and safely
- Develop strategies to increase shop efficiency and work with management, technicians, and other departments to implement positive change
- Attend training as requested
- Investigate comebacks. Suggest improvements to prevent future, similar, issues

**What we are looking for**:

- Certified Red Seal Heavy Duty Technician with 10+ years of shop experience
- Supervision experience is an asset
- The ability to properly represent a “Class Pays” organization
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to work professionally with diverse personalities
- A “can do” attitude that contributes to a positive workplace culture
- Technologically savvy, embracing new systems with optimism
- Previous dealership experience
- Experience with PACCAR MX, Cummins, and CAT engines
- Highly organized, safety focused, and professional
