Early Childhood Assistant (ECA)

Overview:
Join our team at First Smiles Christian Daycare in Aurora, where we provide a nurturing and educational environment for children. We are seeking a dedicated Early Childhood Assistant (ECA) to support the growth and development of young learners in our infant, toddler, and preschool classrooms.

**Duties**:

- Implement a developmentally appropriate, play-based curriculum set by the classroom RECE.
- Maintain daily log books and evaluations with accuracy and efficiency.
- Assist children with daily tasks such as eating, toileting, and using educational materials.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues, families, and external agencies to meet individual children's needs.
- Adhere to operational and curriculum guidelines mandated by the Ministry and organization.

**Requirements**:
Professional Qualifications:

- Valid Standard First Aid & CPR - LEVEL C
- Current Immunizations
- Two Step Tuberculosis Screening
- Valid Vulnerable Sector Screening
- Minimum 1 year of experience in childcare or related setting
- Familiarity with How Does Learning Happen and ELECT Documents (preferred)
- Food Handlers Certificate (preferred)

**Note**:
As an Early Childhood Assistant (ECA) at our daycare, you will work in an outdoor setting daily (except in extreme weather conditions) and may be exposed to childhood illnesses common in childcare centers. Additionally, you may encounter odors related to children's toileting routines and cleaning up after sick children.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $16.55-$18.55 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Supplemental pay types:

- Our daycare is operational between the hours of 7:00 am and 6:00 pm from Monday to Friday. Shifts are scheduled within these established hours (eight hours per day, total). Are you available during our operational hours? Are there any limitations to your availability?
