**Responsibilities**:
The Dietetic Technician exhibits sound professional judgment and initiative while working within the Mission, Vision and Strategic Directions and incorporates into daily practice the Core Competencies and Values of the organization.
**Qualifications**:
- Graduate of a Food Service Supervisor certification or an acceptable equivalent (2-3 years undergraduate program in Nutrition or a combination of nutrition and food service courses)
- Demonstrated current knowledge of basic nutrition and diet therapy
- Demonstrated ability to use sound professional judgment, initiative and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication (listening, oral and written) skills demonstrating a high degree of tact, judgment, courtesy and confidentiality
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with all stakeholders, including patients, families, all levels of staff and individuals internal and external to the organization
- Excellent organizational, follow-through and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and accurately handle multiple priorities
- Commitment to promoting a culture of respect that supports safety, ethical practices, cultural awareness and organizational health
- Computer expertise in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) internet, intranet, MEDITECH and the ability to acquire new skills as necessary, such as VISION
- Physical and mental requirements to perform the duties of the position such as sitting for long periods, keyboarding and telephone duties, multi-tasking, working under pressure to meet strict deadlines, and working flexible hours as necessary; travelling within other areas as necessary
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
**Hours of Work**:
Casual relief position
**Salary Information**:
$ 22.99 - $27.05 hourly
