Role Description:
In this role, the drafter should have strongly developed software skill sets, a wide range of functional design knowledge, and a sharp eye for detail. The individual will be responsible for preparing drawings, specifications, and other technical documents.
This is a great opportunity for a Junior Drafter who is proactive, collaborative, enthusiastic about new challenges (technical and non-technical) and can communicate well with others.
Reports to:
- Electrical Design Lead
- Drafting Managers
Main Responsibilities:
- Request documents from project stakeholders, meticulously track them and ensure their timely return
- Execute AutoCAD drafting tasks in accordance with the requirements of a multi-disciplinary engineering team
- Prioritize tasks effectively and take a proactive approach to managing multiple projects simultaneously, driving them to completion
- Participate in delivering quality design and packages as part of a drafting team and independently dealing with other multi-disciplinary engineering teams
- Work independently on assigned tasks
- Provide support on projects
- Visit project field locations on occasion, as required
Required Qualifications:
- Post-secondary Engineering Technology (ET) course or relevant field experience
- 0 to 2 years experience in a Design / Drafting position
- Previous experience in AutoCAD, CADworx, Plant3D and Navis would be an asset
- Enthusiasm, self-motivation, and the ability to work independently
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Curious and inquisitive, demonstrating the desire to learn and develop new skills and knowledge
