Position: Analyst - Associate

HLT is a specialized consulting firm focused on providing business advisory services to the gaming (gambling) and convention centre industries. Our longstanding public and private sector clients are located throughout Canada and in select international jurisdictions.

HLT is owned and managed by two Managing Directors. One Managing Director lives in the Niagara Region and works out of the Lincoln corporate office. One is based in Toronto.

We are seeking one or two individuals to join our team and primarily work in-person at the corporate office. The analyst position is an entry level position (e.g., recent university graduate) and the associate position is an intermediate position (e.g., a couple of years of work experience).

As an analyst/associate, you will assist with:

- Conducting primary and secondary industry-based research
- Preparing client files and research reports
- Preparing and integrity testing of financial and market demand models
- Coordinating the development of client proposals
- Maintaining communication with all project stakeholders

We are looking for an analyst/associate with the following skillset:

- Proficiency in MS Office - word, excel, power point
- A degree/diploma in business/commerce, or the social sciences (e.g., geography, economics, planning)
- An ability to work effectively and independently on multiple, simultaneous tasks
- Self-motivated with the ability to work in a team environment
- Strong organizational, time management and project management skills
- Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills
- Strong research skills
- Excellent oral and communication skills

While we provide on-the job training, those individuals with direct experience in one or more of the following areas will be given preference:

- Work experience in a consulting or advisory environment
- Exposure to gaming (gambling) and/or convention centre industries
- Knowledge of Statistics Canada and US Census data sets
- Experience working with ESRI mapping software system

Our compensation package includes both a base salary and a bonus component paid annually, as well as a benefit package. Starting base salaries for the two positions are:

- Analyst - $50,000 - $55,000
- Associate - $55,000 - $60,000

While the bonus component is discretionary (based on a combination of individual and firm performance), historically bonuses for these positions have ranged from 5 to 20 percent of base salaries.
