**Schedule & Pay**:
Saturday & Sunday, 10:00am to 6:00pm, for a total of **16 hours weekly. This position is temporary. Pay is $200 pre shift.**

**Position Summary**:
The **In-Home Companion** provides transportation and companionship services to a personal client. The Companion safely drives the client to and from appointments or errands as required. The Companion will be prepared to respond calmly and effectively in case of medical emergencies or any unforeseen situations. Will assist the client in sitting, walking, standing, transferring, dressing and may include other light duty support. The Companion will be required to do shopping, meal preparation and to assist in light housekeeping duties.

**Knowledge, Skills & Abilities**:

- Completion of RCA certificate with diploma preferred
- Valid Emergency First Aid Certificate, CPR, and AED training
- WHMIS Certification
- Experience in assisted living
- Medication Administration Certificate
- Food Safe Level 1 Certificate if handling or serving food
- A minimum of seven (7) years driving experience, must have a full class 5 license.
- Clean drivers abstract report and safe driving record
- Demonstrates a solid understanding of the intent, philosophy, and core values of assisted living when planning and delivering personal service and hospitality services
- Physically able to lift, bend and perform repetitive movements
- Demonstrates an awareness of accident and incident prevention and adheres to safe work practices
- Relationship building & team oriented
- Strong communication skills including, listening, understanding & responding
- Commitment to customer relationships and hospitality by being caring and courteous to residents, families, visitors and co-workers
- Tact, diplomacy, sound judgment & confidentiality
- Patience, reliability and empathy skills
- Problem solving and conflict resolution skills

Note: A criminal record check is required pursuant to the Criminal Records Review Act for working with vulnerable adults. Current TB test also required, as well as proof of Covid-19 vaccination(s).

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: From $200.00 per day
