**Essential Duties**:
Performs routine maintenance including oil changes to vehicles, installs basic and routine parts or accessories, performs general department and equipment clean up duties on a consistent basis. Will also be required to Detail Vehicles when needed.
**Shop Mechanical**:
- Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
- Looks for and recommends other needed repairs and other services - utilizing Class A Technician, Service Team Leader or Service Manager opinion if needed prior to presentation to Service Advisor.
- Drains oil from crankcase and refills with required amount of oil.
- Replaces oil and air filters.
- Inspects vehicle fluid levels, replaces or replenishes as necessary.
- Checks tire pressure and adds air if needed.
- Lubricates moving parts with specified lubricants.
- Completes visual inspections and checks off results on VRC (Vehicle Report Card).
- Maintains company supplied tools and tool box in good working order.
- Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.
**Miscellaneous**:
- Fills in as Detailer as needed.
- Cleans special tools and equipment, performing minor repairs as applicable.
- Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
- Clearly documents on electronic repair orders complaint, cause and correction under the supervision of assigned technician or shop foreman.
- Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs as assigned by service manager.
- Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
- Ensures that customers' cars are kept clean. Notifies service advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
- Keeps shop tool and machinery areas neat and clean.
- Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as when they were received.
- Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, provincial, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, Occupational Health & Safety, W.H.I.M.I.S., etc.
- Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
- Reports any safety issues immediately to management.
- Utilize assistance of other technicians, apprentices, general labourers or management when moving disabled vehicles.
