**POSITION OVERVIEW**

The **Cook **is responsible for the dietary needs of the children within our centres. This should all be done in accordance with the vision, brand and culture of Childventures. **KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Planning High Quality Menus.
- Purchasing food within a budget
- Preparing food according to the daily schedules of the program
- Clean, safe and sanitary kitchen areas
- Preparing substitutions according to children’s allergies and food restrictions
- Must be able to lift and carry heavy object and stand for a prolonged period of time

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- 1-2 years cooking experience
- Must have food handlers’ certificate
- Knowledge of the Canada’s Food Guide

**MINISTRY REQUIREMENTS**:

- 2 Step TB
- Updated Immunizations (Tetanus, MMR)
- Vulnerable Sector Check
- Standard First Aid & CPR Level C- Within 3 months of hire
