- Location: Markham, ON (Hybrid)
- Reports To: Category and Retailer Management Manager
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Category and Retailer Management Analyst collaborates closely with their manager and Key Account Managers in the activation of category insights at their respective account. They are responsible for the creation of customer-specific category deliverables both to our Sales team internally and Customer Category Buyers externally, with emphasis on actionable category and shopper centric insights.
Data Mining & Story Creation- Create data stories through combining various data sources (NielsenIQ, Retailer Specific POS Platforms, Panel Data etc.) for your respective Account Team that address JM Smucker focus areas and external business pressures (price, promotion, distribution, assortment, and merchandising)-
- Connecting the dots to draw insights from the data and presenting the implications/opportunities-
- Uncover and develop actionable category opportunities and insights in relation to listings, pricing, assortment, merchandising and promotion to drive category results-
- Use a category-centric approach in supporting product launches and/or line extensions-
- Identify trends and impact of promotions and distribution opportunities-
- Provide planogram analysis including space to sales, SKU productivity and listing/delisting recommendations- The Customer- Build relationship with our Retailers through providing non-biased insights, strategies, and effective category plans to drive business results-
- Leverage our knowledge of our categories, consumers, and shoppers in building opportunities during Joint Business Plans and Category Reviews-
- Integrate shopper centric insights into customer presentations-
- Attend and present at customer & sales meetings- Internally- Work closely with Account Managers supporting their business initiatives and overall sales targets-
- Build cross-functional relationships with Category Strategy and Shopper Insights AnalystsSELECTION CRITERIA- Relevant Degree, Diploma and/or equivalent experience required-
- 2+ years of relevant experience. Consumer-Packaged Goods experience is an asset-
- Category Management, Account Manager or Sales Rep experience is an asset-
- Effective communication and technical skills, ability to create presentation-ready customer decks utilizing PowerPoint-
- Familiarity with any of the following (NielsenIQ, Circana, Dunnhumby, Retail Link, JDA) is an asset-
- Natural curiosity in the exploration and mining of data-
- Independent, initiative-taking, ability to multi-task and prioritize-
