Maintenance Foreman

Based at our Saskatoon plant location, we are hiring a permanent, full time Maintenance Foreman. This role is responsible for ensuring safe and efficient operations of all plant maintenance activities. Other responsibilities include the maintenance and repair of plant equipment, assisting in the management of the preventative maintenance program, participating in employee recruitment and performance management, and providing mentorship to Apprentices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install, maintain, and dismantle plant equipment when necessary
- Provide troubleshooting and problem-solving solutions for all the general repair of equipment
- Coordinate routine and preventative maintenance programs with the aid of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Schedule and direct maintenance employees, approve time cards, and make recommendations to meet the business needs
- Provide mentorship, supervision, and training for electrical, millwright, and welding staff
- Establish and complete preventative and operational maintenance procedures on equipment
- Maintain a clean, tidy work site which includes daily housekeeping of shop areas
- Fabricate and weld various plant equipment and piping
- May be asked to operate forklifts and other hoisting devices when necessary
- Conduct and participate in monthly Toolbox Meetings to ensure open channels of communication between management and maintenance personnel
- Participate in employee recruitment, discipline, and employee performance management
- Submit purchase requisitions for replacement parts
- Perform shift work based on company business needs which evolve and change in response to customer demands
- Work overtime as instructed to ensure mínimal downtime of facilities
- Adhere to the company Code of Conduct and all West Coast Reduction Ltd. policies
- Foster a positive team and company culture by ensuring treatment of others is respectful and aligned with company values
- Perform other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Possession of a valid Saskatchewan Journeyperson Millwright or interprovincial Red Seal Certification
- 7 years of experience in a production maintenance or similar environment or industry
- Computer literate, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other software including CMMS
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, with excellent communication skills
- Ability to read or interpret diagrams, schematic drawings and manuals to determine work procedures
- Ability to frequently move, carry, lift, push and pull equipment up to 50 lbs without assistance and occasionally greater with assistance
- Perform repetitive motions including bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing and reaching overhead above the shoulders daily
- Adaptable to adverse conditions including confined space, heights, cold weather, odors and animal by-products
