Requisition ID: 153553 Join a purpose driven winning team, committed to results, in an inclusive and high-performing culture. **_ Purpose_** Responsible for overall base governance and control processes for non-financial risks in Global Banking & Markets (GBM) business lines. Responsible for the design and implementation of control processes and testing requirements (including test strategy, detailed test plans, reporting of test results) with input from the GBM business lines (Line 1A and 1B) and the second lines of defense (e.g., Compliance), thereby contributing to the overall success of the first line of defense in managing non-financial risks inherent in the businesses. **_ Accountabilities_** - Designs, builds, and delivers the operational risk policies, procedures and controls for the businesses working with the local leads for Internal Controls. This includes oversight and supervision for trading desks in multiple locations across the full suite of GBM products. - Provides expert advice to Management and Business Heads on non-financial risk. Monitors and identifies emerging risks and makes recommendations to executive management. Drives the process for remediation of regulatory and audit related issues. - Develop, monitor, and regularly update first line operational risk accountabilities as risks evolve. These include leading the delivery of the enterprise operational risk tools, i.e. Risk Control Self Assessments, investigation and reporting of operational losses and development of Key Risk Indicators and other metrics. - Develop and sustain a robust risk assessment model and associated processes to effectively assess the inherent risks in the various business lines and processes and ensure appropriately designed controls are in place to manage the risks. - Develop and sustain the requisite reporting to GBM senior management and the GBM Core Risk Committee (CoRC) of Key Risk Indicators, Key Performance Indicators, and other metrics, including but not limited to open audit and regulatory issues, operational risk events and emerging trends. - Lead the First Line Testing unit for key controls - Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge. - Provides advice and counsel to SVP, GBM Internal Control and the functional regional Internal Control teams on domestic and global strategic operational risk/non-financial risk issues relevant to GBM’s operations. - Directs day-to-day activities in a manner consistent with the Bank’s risk culture and the relevant risk appetite statement and limits. Communicates the Bank’s risk culture and risk appetite statement throughout their teams. - Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct. - Builds a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment; communicating vison/values/business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team. **_ Education/Experience_** - At least 10 years of experience in a capital markets and wholesale banking role. - This role requires significant capital markets and wholesale banking product knowledge for the full life cycle of a transaction. - Knowledge of market risk, credit risk and operational risk is required to prevent and detect fraud and market abuse. - Expertise in regulatory and compliance requirements for all GBM locations. - Experience in developing controls and regulatory reporting is required. - Experience in developing standards and procedures that address global and local requirements. - Ability to balance multiple competing priorities and make progress on addressing significant risk issues.
