**Role Description**:
**GeoMate** is looking for a skilled and motivated **Cartographer/Geospatial Specialist** to join our dynamic team. This full-time, in-person role is based in our vibrant office at Communitech’s Kitchener hub.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Create, edit, and maintain high-quality maps using QGIS and other GIS tools.
- Perform geospatial data analysis and visualization to support project goals.
- Manage and maintain geospatial databases, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including AI specialists, cartographers, and GIS developers, to deliver innovative mapping solutions.
- Work both independently and in a team setting to meet project deadlines.
**Qualifications**:
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in cartography, geospatial analysis, or a related field.
- Proficiency in enterprise and open-source GIS software, such as QGIS and ArcGIS.
- Proven experience in creating detailed maps with a strong understanding of cartographic design principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and work with complex geospatial data.
- Knowledge of geospatial data analysis, visualization techniques, and interpretation.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accuracy and precision in mapping outputs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Geomatics, Cartography, or a related discipline.
