**Westhills Equine Veterinary Services (WEVS) is shifting from an on-call emergency team to a dedicated overnight emergency and hospitalized case care team.**
Westhills EVS is located 10 minutes west of Stony Plain (Alberta, Canada) and 30 minutes west of Edmonton and is easily accessed off of TransCanada Highway 16 on Range Road 25. You must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation as we are not on a bus route.

As a Veterinary Assistant (VA) you will work closely with our veterinarians in a wide variety of animal nursing duties and play a large role in client education and exceptional patient care.
**Westhills EVS provides interesting and dynamic VA work in a variety of areas, including but not limited to**:
- Laboratory procedures
- Hospitalized patient care
- Client Education
- Reproduction assistance and neonatal care
- Routine diagnostics and laboratory testing
- Emergency triage
- Surgical preparation and assistance
- General medicine assistance
**What We’re Looking For**:
- REQUIRED: Extensive Horse Handling Experience
- STRONG ASSET: Previous equine veterinary experience.
- Strong interest in emergency and critical care with the ability to work in rapid, high-pressure situations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (in English), with the ability to communicate calmly during emergencies.
- A team-oriented mindset and a commitment to excellence in equine care.
