Snowball Studios is a vibrant animation studio with studios in Toronto and Tel Aviv. Snowball has produced hundreds of minutes of top quality, 3D animation and visual effects for film, tv, computer games, commercials and mobile, which are aired all over the world. Snowball Studios Toronto is now home to more than 150 employees in a brand-new studio.

As a 3D LRC Lead, you will be directly reporting to the LRC Supervisor. You will be in charge of reviewing, approving and facilitating the smooth handoff of final episodes to the client. You will work closely with Production Coordinator to manage and forecast artists while maintaining the established schedule to ensure on time project deliveries. As the LRC Lead, you will help artists with any questions technical errors, etc.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**
- Become familiar with the tools, techniques and pipeline within the studio.
- Attend pre-launches and internal launches. You will be expected to review the episodes before these launches and prepare any questions or concerns so the LRC Supervisor may request more information as needed.
- Receiving, reviewing and interpreting hand off notes from the animation department and working with the PC to schedule launches to relay these handoff notes with the LRC team for new episodes.
- Mentoring artists and give tutorials as needed to help improve their skills.
- Ensure that quality expectations are maintained in accordance with the set style of the show.
- Review shots from artists and provide feedback as needed before reviewing with the Director.
- Attend episode reviews with the Director.
- Mange premier project files for reviews with the Director.
- Prep future episodes for the LRC team.
- Working with the PC to schedule dailies, rounds and department meetings in accordance with the schedule that is set by the Production Management team and LRC Supervisor.
- Identifying and communicate problems and bottlenecks while working with the production staff to come up with solutions and implement strategies to help alleviate and prevent future concerns.
- Monitor weekly quota and ensure clarity on deadlines.
- Ensure the project scope and flag when you see the project potentially going out of scope.
- Set up master/key shots and ensure lighting style of the production.
- Working with the PC for a clear communication and use of production management software to track progress and any production issues.
- Take on lighting shots as needed in order to help meet tight deadlines.
- Ensuring continuity of light/shadow direction, light quality and shot contents from shot to shot.

**Qualifications**:

- Proven experience of Lighting/Rendering/Compositing on CG/VFX productions.
- Strong working knowledge of 2D and 3D software, preferably including Maya, Fusion, Nuke, Unreal Engine and Vray.
- A strong creative portfolio and showreel.
- A strong, measurable track record in delivering against project goals.
- Deadline driven.
- Good communicator.
- Previous LRC lead experience is a plus.

**Special Requirements**:
Must be flexible at times for afterhours/weekend functions/duties.
