Houseperson (Overnight)

Overview:
To ensure public areas and public washrooms are cleaned routinely throughout the day, ensure public washrooms and pool and health club are sanitized and re-stocked at all times. Ensure hallways on each guest floor cleaned. Ensure linen rooms on each guest floor restocked. Delivery of items to guest rooms upon request.

**Responsibilities**:

- Carry a radio and follow requests
- Deliver and pick up guest laundry
- Deliver any items to a guest room per guest’s request
- Restock linen rooms on each guest floor
- Clean and vacuum hallways on each guest floor
- Clean and dust the lobby areas
- Ensure furniture and fixtures are free of debris
- Make sure furniture is positioned correctly
- Vacuum carpets and clean windows/doors in lobby and front entrance area
- Empty trash and smoke receptacles
- Mop hard surface floors when necessary, always place wet floor warning sign
- Clean and sanitize public washrooms and health club, replenish items as needed
- Take deliveries from receiving to housekeeping and laundry
- Throughout your shift sort linen from each linen room on guest floors
- Report all incidents, accidents and hazards immediately
- To look out for the safety of yourself, co-workers and to follow all Health and Safety requirements in the workplace.
- Other duties as required

Qualifications:

- 1-2 years’ experience in a housekeeping environment.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Customer Service Skills: Houseperson need proper customer service skills.
- To be able to handle the daily workload according to business needs
- Able to work as a part of a team.
- Able to work with little supervision.
- Ability to work calmly under pressure.
- Must be organized and detail oriented
- Must have working knowledge of the English language (verbal, written, reading)
- Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities**: Fast-paced environment, Repetitive tasks, physically demanding, Attention to detail, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Bending, crouching, kneeling. Must be able to lift/carry up to 25 to 50 lbs.
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals

The schedule for this position may vary and would require the ability to work shift work, late nights, overnight, weekends and holidays.
