**As Farm/Commercial Underwriter YOU Will Be Responsible For**:

- Determining if risk is acceptable, is acceptable with restrictions, or should be declined based on analysis and evaluation of all information pertinent to the risk within the authority limit guidelines of this position.
- Determining action required to improve risk and recommends restrictions to coverages or revisions to deductibles or premiums based on analysis of the risk.
- Negotiating with brokers as to the conditions, limitations, rates and premiums to apply.
- Determining percentage of involvement in subscription policies.
- Answering inquiries orally and/or in writing and acts as a technical resource to brokers, insureds, and other employees on policy exclusions, wordings, coverages, and premiums.
- Developing correspondence to request information and to explain underwriting requirements and decisions.
- Training, reviewing and approving the work of less senior underwriting and clerical staff.
- Performing quality control checks.
- Testing the accuracy of information systems including updates to the system.

This unionized position offers an annual salary range of $52,107 - $ 71,578, a comprehensive benefits package, a fun and inclusive work environment, professional development opportunities and the potential for further advancement within the company.
