We are a steel building material manufacturer making steel studs, tracks and trims to frame commercial buildings. The business has been established since over 35 years and is still growing today. We are currently looking for a Shear Operator to accomplish various tasks in the shop.

**Job Summary**: As a shear operator, you will be responsible for operating a shear press to cut and shape steel materials according to specifications. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently to ensure production targets are met while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Operate a shear press machine to cut steel materials to required dimensions.
- Read and interpret work orders and blueprints to understand cutting specifications.
- Adjust machine settings to ensure accurate cuts and minimize material waste.
- Monitor machine operation to detect any issues or malfunctions; troubleshoot as necessary.
- Measure and inspect cut pieces
- Assist in loading and unloading materials onto the shear press.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety and cleanliness standards.
- Follow established procedures for quality control and ensure products meet required standards.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize production processes.

**Requirements**:

- Experience operating a shear press or similar machinery is preferred; training will be provided.
- Ability to read and understand technical documents, including blueprints and work orders.
- Familiarity with using measuring tools
- Physical strength and stamina to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods.
- Proficiency in the use of general hand tools and equipment.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures in a manufacturing environment.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in work.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- Bilingualism (French/English) is advantageous but not required.

**Working Conditions**:

- Regular hours: Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to industrial machinery and materials.
- Occasional overtime may be required based on production needs.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
