**Hiring Health Care Workers to join our nursing department.** Billingswood Manor is a medium sized Senior's Residence in prime Ottawa location. We provide a comfortable, clean, upbeat environment for residents and staff. Days, Evenings, and Weekends availability are required for this position. - **Qualifications**:_ 1. Previous employment in a health care/hospitality setting an asset. 2. Demonstrated understanding of/empathy for the needs of seniors. 3. Good physical and mental health and free from communicable disease. 4. Certified in CPR and First Aid recommended. 5. Good understanding of the nursing process 6. Good written and verbal communication skills. 7. Willingness to update and keep current their knowledge of changing regulations, practices and procedures. 8. Must be comfortable with typing 10. Auditory and visual skills, and the ability to sit, stand, lift, bend, reach, and push and pull a minimum of 50 pounds - **Job Description: Medication Administration**_ 1. Administers/assists/observes medications and treatments for each resident using the medication administration record (MAR) in accordance with care plans, policies and procedures. 2. Successful completion of initial and annual medication administration training and sign off by the DOC/designate. 3. Notifies the Direct of Care of any resident concerns. 4. Restocks medication cart after all medication passes. 5. Provides PRN ("as needed") medications as requested by the resident and as per the physician's order. 6. Counts all narcotics with another UCP or nurse at the beginning and end of every shift. 7. Refills resident medications as required and as per the prescription refill process. 8. Responsible for safekeeping of drug and narcotic keys. 9. Complete care documentation as per the Waterford policies and guidelines 10. Behave politely towards staff, residents, resident families and visitors 11. Assist with resident admissions and discharges when required 12. Maintain the retirement community in a clean, safe and sanitary manner 13.
