**Health Care Facilities Special Projects Carpenter - General Repair Technician (GRT)**

Carpenters (GRT) at On Side rebuild and restore damaged property anywhere and anytime a disaster strikes in the Health Care sector. With the goal of getting things back to a pre-disaster state GRTs use the skills of carpenters, drywallers, painters and magicians Making clients believe magic has happened is all part of a day for a GRT.

**Responsible for**

The multi-talented GRT is skilled in the following ways:

- Special carpentry projects as assigned
- Drywalling, mudding, sanding and finishing
- Brush and roller painting
- Building, set up and poly on containments
- Demolition
- Abatement (mould and asbestos remediation)
- Emergency work
- Ceiling tiles
- Moving materials and/or furniture as needed

**What you bring**

The GRT brings a host of abilities to their work, not the least being a ‘get it done’ attitude. Additional abilities required include:

- Commitment to keeping a clean environment
- Experience working in construction environments
- Tools and the skills to use them
- Using previous knowledge and skills to problem solve/assess/create
- Versatility, willingness to help with any and all jobs
- Strong people and communication skills
- Attention to detail, passion for quality and pride in the work you do
- A safety mindset: willing to wear PPE as required for the job, including full face masks (clean shaven face if applicable)
- Valid drivers license
- Ability to pass a criminal record check
- Ability to communicate in English

**Other stuff that’ll help you be successful but isn’t mandatory**:

- Skilled trades ticket (Carpenter, Painter, Cabinetmaker)
- IICRC certification (restoration focus)
- WHMIS
- First Aid

**Of Note**

Disasters can strike at any time so a rotating schedule of 24/7 after hours on-call work is not mandatory but a discussion to be had with the manager.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $25.00-$28.00 per hour

- 10 hour shift
- 12 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
