At SCA we pride ourselves on our positive reinforcement approach and are seeking like-minded individuals who are serious about building a career in Guelph and gaining valuable animal experience. Experience is preferred, however finding the “right fit” for our team is our top priority, therefore training will be provided (approx. 12 hours to start, with additional training opportunities available).

Compensation
- $15.50 per hour (minimum wage) to $16 per hour based on experience
- Opportunity to earn up to $19/hour as a Jr. Trainer and $25/hour as a Sr. Trainer
- Availability most weekdays between 8am-6pm (hours vary within this time frame, starting as relief and working towards part-time, afternoon and weekend availability appreciated)
- WE ARE SPECIFICALLY LOOKING TO HIRE FOR TUESDAYS, WITH THE OPPORTUNITY TO EXTEND THEIR HOURS.

**Requirements**:

- Degree or diploma in Psychology or Animal Sciences (preferred, students welcome to apply)
- Prior experience, working or volunteer capacity, with dogs
- Works well as a team, in a collaborative environment, to share innovative ideas, problem solve, and share the responsibility to bring dogs to success
- Skilled in both written and verbal communication
- Attention to detail, work within priorities and procedures
- Dedication to work with positive reinforcement training and adhere to LIMA and the Humane Hierarchy
- Holds self accountable, works with a sense of pride, and is motivated by success
- Humbly accepts feedback, while graciously accepting affirmation and recognizing the contributions of all parties (dogs, pet parents, peers)
- Eager and able to walk 5-15km per shift
- Enjoys being outdoors regardless of weather conditions (some exceptions apply)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Own a Smart phone
- Access to reliable vehicle and possess valid G license
- Must be 18 years of age or older (our insurance requires this).

Phase 1 interviews will be held from August 16th - 26th and will be conducted over the phone (5-15min).

We will contact you by the 28th to let you know if you made it to the second round and book you in.

New Hires will begin work on September 1st and 2nd for training.

All customers and staff are required to wear a mask when inside or within 6ft of another person. Gear, hands and shared surfaces will be sanitized regularly. All COVID-19 Protocols will be followed and posted.
