From our central position, we add value in a few critical ways, including: - Developing tools and resources that support undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and staff - Identifying opportunities to align or standardize practices - Facilitating programming that compliments and uplifts other work on campus - Collecting data that tells a compelling story about the Western student experience The Accommodated Exams team provides student support for in-person assessments(tests, quizzes, and exams) including accommodated assessments for students with disabilities. **Responsibilities**: The Assessment Coordinator, Accommodated Exams, will work with the Assessments team to plan, manage and facilitate accommodated, ensuring that all service standards are met for students in accordance with Western’s Senate requirements or the requirements of the institutions from which the student officially resides, the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, and the Ontario Human Rights Code. The Assessments Coordinator will actively participate in the development of policies and procedures related to Examination Services and will review existing policies and processes to identify opportunities for improvement and to enhance customer service. The Assessments Coordinator will provide training to the in-person and remote proctoring team to ensure the delivery of exemplary customer service to various stakeholders. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Facilitates consultations and negotiations with a wide range of stakeholders including faculty, students, and staff to determine schedules and environments for assessments - Manages over 30,000 in-person accommodated examinations - Ensures that examinations are planned, managed, and administered in a fair, equitable, and seamless manner aligned with the University’s academic policies/regulations - Maintains professionalism in high pressured or stressful situations resulting from unanticipated circumstances involving students, off site proctoring staff, Western faculty and staff, colleagues in Affiliate University Colleges or outside agencies (e.g. University, College, professional organizations) - Coordinates the assignment of exam locations in an equitable manner that maximizes staffing resource allocation and takes into consideration all special case needs related to exam rooms on and off-campus, including arranging for necessary equipment - Ensures the timely grading of Gradescope exams and communication to relevant instructors to ensure determination of grades is compliant with Senate policy - Supports the Operations Manager and Team Leader, with administrative documentation and policy support for communication with stakeholders and successful on-boarding of proctors - Serves as the primary point of contact for students and instructors, particularly pertaining to unique or time-sensitive requests, special consideration situations, and offers general training on Accommodated Assessments' systems and processes - Identifies areas for system improvements to uphold service standards and collaborates with colleagues to streamline exam-related processes, systems, and websites - Prepares data and reports for the Operations Manager and Manager, Accessible Education (e.g. staffing assessments, resource allocation, financial effectiveness, attendance records, makeup assessments, proctor-to-student ratio, and business-related exam forecasting) - Manages the assignment of exam rooms in an equitable manner that maximizes staffing resource allocation and takes into consideration all special case needs that have been identified and agreed **Professional Qualifications & Education**: Minimum Education Required: - Bachelor’s Degree Preferred Education: - Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Administration/Human Resources or Information Management Minimum Experie
