Hardware Quality Technician

**Position Summary**
Working in the Hardware Quality team, this position will act as a key technical resource responsible for analyzing field returns to attempt to replicate customer symptoms, identify failure root causes and drive continuous quality improvement improvement. Position requires a hands-on focus so the role will be in-office at Miovision headquarters (Kitchener, Ontario).
Position will require collaborative work with electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, firmware development, customer support and manufacturing/supply chain teams. Strong attention to detail is required due to the volume of data that will be involved with device analysis.
**Key Accountabilities**
- Hands on root cause analysis of devices (field returns and NCRs) to diagnose and resolve both hardware and firmware related issues
- Document findings in QMS to detail device history, root cause analysis steps and root cause findings
- Drive continuous improvement activities to strengthen Miovision Quality Management System (QMS)
- Develop and refine debug processes to assist both HW QA and related teams with root cause analysis efficiency
- Work closely with engineering (electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, firmware development), manufacturing and supply chain teams to coordinate work
- Relay findings from RCA to engineering design and customer support teams to drive continuous improvement
- Manage non-conforming material and containment
- Monitor quality KPIs and identify areas of focus. Assess trends based on root cause analysis data
- Work with suppliers to ensure quality product is being provided to Miovision
- Ownership and accountability for the sustainability and triage processes for in-life hardware products
**Skills/Qualifications**
- Must haves_
- 3+ years experience in a hands-on engineering or quality related role
- Experience with 8D methodology for problem solving
- Past experience in a hardware root cause analysis focused role
- Past experience with debug processes including hands-on measurement work
- Past experience with electronic design & debug
- Electrical, mechanical, or any related technical degree/diploma
- Proven track record of effective communication with interdepartmental teams
- Strong knowledge of electrical or mechanical systems, or both
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Very detailed oriented personality

- Experience working in ISO, TS or equivalent QMS
- Experience with environmental test specifications and methodologies
- Experience with test automation systems
