**Responsible for all aspects of inspection working closely with production, supply chain, maintenance, ensuring all finished products meet specifications and customer expectations. **Essential tasks or functions that are fundamental to the job**:
- Coordinates inspection systems including people, tools and processes
- Execute control plans and provide value added feedback
- Develop, maintain and update inspection related documentation
- Provide direction and guidance on metrology and measurement methodology
- Manage Inspection Lab (Calibration, Schedule, 5S)
- Manage quarantine area and disposition defective parts
- Train and coach Quality Control Inspector team members
- Document inspection findings and complete detailed reports
- Provide assistance to Team Leaders in investigating Nonconformances
- Educate the production teams on quality control processes and standards of product quality
- Post-secondary education (engineering degree preferred) or equivalent work experience
- Required: Minimum 5-7 years Quality Engineer/Analyst, Quality Specialist experience or equivalent;
- Preferred: 6 Sigma Green Belt, Certified Quality Inspector (CQI), Supervisory knowledge, skills and experience, Professional Engineering designation an asset.
- Understanding of ISO9001:2008 QMS requirements
- Knowledge of inspection systems and standards
- Strong facilitation, leadership and motivational skills
- Strong communication (written, verbal and presentation) and training delivery skills
- Process management and continual improvement skills
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System and Quality tools (e.g. 5 Why, 8D, Fishbone, etc.)
- Certification as a Quality Inspector (CQI), or agreed on Professional Development Plan to achieve certification (ASQ preferred but other comparable regional certifications accepted).
