**Interested?**
Reporting to the Supervisor of Risk Management within the larger Risk, Pricing & Contracts team, the Risk Analyst is to provide Risk Management expertise with respect to the daily valuation of the Company’s various commodity hedging programs. Ensure the Company’s policies and procedures are being followed with respect to financial risk management activities.

**What You'll Be Doing**
- Monitor and report positions, exposures, and mark to market, on a daily basis.
- Assists in maintaining ownership of the Daily Risk Report processes and accuracy of key price inputs; provides forward curve modeling and validation to ensure prices reflect market realities.
- Model and analyze the day-to-day economics of trading, including exposures, Mark-to-Market (MTM), Value at Risk (VaR), and profit and loss assessments.
- Completes various daily, weekly, and monthly risk reports for internal stakeholders.
- Monitors the Company’s clearing accounts and communicates with the clearing agent and Treasury to ensure margin account balances are maintained.
- Ensures physical commodity and financial transactions are accurately reflected in the risk management system and monitors compliance with internal risk policies and limits.
- Ensures financial contracts are captured, valued, and settled accurately.
- Verifies invoiced amounts for brokerage fees and commissions on financial transactions.
- Suggests procedures that create efficiencies and strengthen controls in the Risk area.
- Maintains communications with business units to ensure all risk areas are being captured.
- Monitors and verifies confirmations for financial transactions, including FX transactions on the FXall platform.
- Performs/maintains CSOX controls and responds to requests from both internal and external auditors.
- Performs variance analysis of Accounting reconciliations for financial counterparty and clearing accounts.
- Prepares monthly summary of MtM gains/losses on financial transactions for Accounting.
- Maintains all necessary desk manuals with up to date procedures outlining regularly scheduled tasks in the Risk area.
- Responds to ad-hoc requests from the Supervisor Risk Management.
- Contributes to decision making and puts forward alternative solutions.
- Demonstrates a personal commitment and proactive approach to Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) through participation in all applicable EH&S programs and ensures safe operation of the branch, team or unit and compliance with all Company EH&S policies and procedures.
- May perform other duties as assigned.

**What You'll Bring**
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in the areas of Finance, Commerce, Economics, or another analytical field of study.
- CFA, FRM, or ERP designation(s) is an asset.
- Minimum 1-3 years progressive experience in risk analysis, with strong understanding of risk management theories, as well as understanding of crude/commodity marketing.
- Previous experience with derivative contracts.
- Previous midstream, infrastructure or oil & gas experience would be considered an asset.
- Advanced MS Excel skills as well as experience with VBA and relational databases.
- Previous experience with Power BI considered an asset.
- Work independently to complete all required reporting accurately and on time.
- Ability to identify risk related issues and propose solutions to the Supervisor Risk Management.
