Our Prep Cook will be an entry level kitchen position ideally suited for an aspiring chef. As an aspiring chef you will gain valuable experience as a prep cook that will, in time, prepare them to advance to the next level of the kitchen ladder. Working under the command of our Sous Chef, it is important for a prep cook to be able to accept constructive criticism, even when under pressure, as is often the case in a busy kitchen.

The prep cook is an integral member of the kitchen staff. For this reason, the successful prep cook will learn how to work well in a team, will take responsibility for their actions, and will consistently pay attention to details.

**Who we are**
We are independent owners of a new restaurant in the final stages of the construction of our new building in the Riversdale neighbourhood. The space is a brand new build from the ground up, with a mid-century modern design, all new kitchen equipment, and a focus on great food alongside craft cocktails and local beers. We will look to use global inspiration to highlight the bounty of Saskatchewan’s farmers and producers, and therefore experience with a number of cuisines will be considered an asset.

**Compensation**
- Competitive hourly pay: $15-$20/hour plus tips depending on experience

**Duties and responsibilities**:

- Participate in the daily production of food items as required by volume with specific attention to recipe specifications and ingredient quality
- Execution of kitchen routines as directed by the Sous Chef in regard to product receiving and/or kitchen cleanliness, organization and maintenance
- Communicate feedback to Sous Chef on relevant issues including but not limited to recipe details, kitchen routine effectiveness, ingredient quality and job satisfaction.
- Skills including proficiently being able to utilize a wide range of kitchen tools and utensils like knives, vegetable grinders, ranges, ovens, deep fryers and large mixers.
- A prep cook that takes care to develop their skills while in this position and shows promise to become a talented chef and should be able to quickly advance into a position with greater responsibility

Pay: $15.00-$20.00 per hour
