**You belong at Youth Unlimited Edmonton - investing in the lives of at-risk youth one conversation at a time.**

Our afterschool drop-in centers are designed to create a space where all youth ages 12-18 are welcome. A space where you can bring your passions and skills and invest in youth who need to know there are adults who care.

Welcome Host Volunteer:
**Responsibilities**:

- Be the first point of contact for every youth who walks into the drop-in space.
- Check in every youth through our digital attendance system and help new youth through their first-time registration.
- Provide basic information about the program to new youth.
- Be a friendly, welcoming presence.
- Help new youth feel welcome and accepted by connecting them with another member of the leadership team or other youth in the space.
- Commitment to try to learn the names of the youth.
- Stay for half an hour after the program to clean up and debrief with the rest of the leadership team.

Time Commitment:

- Drop-ins run from 3:30-6 pm every day after school across the city. We would love you to be at as many as you are comfortable with, or even just one day a week makes a huge impact
- 1 hour, 3x per year for support/check-ins with the team lead.
- 2 hours, 2x per year for training/appreciation.

As a relationally focused program, you and your presence matter. Youth are looking for a role model and leader like you. So, if you want to take on a volunteer role with us, commitment is important. Relationships are built on stability.

**Job Type**: Part-time
