**ELECTRICAL DESIGN DRAFTER - THUNDER BAY OFFICE**

With three offices, located in Thunder Bay and Sudbury, Ontario as well as Salt Lake City, Utah, Nordmin provides Full-Service Engineering and Geoscience Solutions to Clients worldwide.

**JOB SUMMARY**

This position will be responsible for the preparation of Electrical Power and Control designs and drawings using AutoCAD/Revit and ensuring that design drawings conform to the developed engineering designs and code requirements.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Develop and prepare electrical designs and drawings from preliminary concepts, and engineering designs and sketches.
- Working knowledge of CAD based design software
- Ability to create 3-dimensional BIM models in Revit.
- Utilize BIM to analyze and optimize potential design solutions.
- Read and interpret existing engineering drawings.
- Check and verify design drawings for conformance with specifications and design data.
- Assist in compiling Material Take-offs from design models for estimating support.
- Be accountable to Project Engineers for model/drawing production and quality.
- Ensure clients’ needs are met in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Maintain current knowledge of National and Provincial building codes.

**QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE**
- Minimum Engineering Technician or Technologist diploma in electrical engineering, drafting, architecture or equivalent, or extensive experience in lieu of.
- Experience working with Revit/BIM modeling.
- Familiarity with Electrical codes and standards.
- Construction and/or site experience is an asset.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Pay: $62,000.00-$82,000.00 per year
