We are looking for a motivated **Employment Skills Facilitator** to join our **Vancouver Northeast WorkBC Centre** team

**POSITION FUNCTION**:
The** Employment Skills Facilitator** develops and delivers classroom instruction to WorkBC clients that results in improved employability and successful job attachment outcomes. As workshop facilitator, you love working with people to connect their strengths and skills with opportunities that can help them find knowledge, confidence, and networks to support their ability to find and retain employment. In your role, you are dedicated to developing and delivering effective classroom instruction to clients, helping to improve their employability. You are highly skilled in communication, enjoy empowering people with learning opportunities, and work effectively as part of a team.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Understands the WorkBC program service policies and contractual obligations, and the role a facilitator plays in achieving program goals (i.e., KPMs and contractual outcomes).
- Facilitates group-based workshops online and in-person to a variety of client groups, including clients with barriers to employment.
- Facilitates group based on specialized projects targeting Industry and NOC.
- Conducts one-on-one support to clients needing extra support on resume and cover writing.
- Assists clients with interview preparation by conducting mock interview.
- Collaborates with Job Developers and Employment Counsellors on clients’ employment.
- Uses updated technology and different virtual workshop delivery methods.
- Maintains knowledge of the unique needs of program participants and related activities/services.
- Utilizes a variety of effective teaching methodologies, and regularly develops, updates curricula.
- Creates an inclusive and supportive learning environment for clients.
- Keeps up to date on labour market information and trends.
- Develops and delivers classroom instruction to improve adult learners’ employability.
- Participates in case conferences, team, program, departmental, and all-staff meetings, in
- service training, and other training as required.
- Supports clients in the development of effective resumes, networking, accessing the hidden job market, and other online job search activities.
- Engages clients to participate and is skilled in de-escalating behaviors in a group-based setting workshop.
- Works closely with other members of the team such as employment counsellor and job developers.
- Other duties, as assigned by the Program Coordinator or Manager.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**:

- A post-secondary degree, certificate, or diploma in a relevant field (human resources management, career development, counselling, social work, psychology, adult education), or completion of course work in related fields, or 2 or more years of demonstrated experience in:

- Coaching and mentoring clients.
- Working with individuals with complex barriers and a broad range of cultural backgrounds.
- Providing customer service and resolving issues both in-person and in a virtual service delivery system.
- Delivering basic life skills/essential work skills programs.
- Current and satisfactory Criminal Record Check required.
