**Where You'll Work**

While this role is part of the broader POD Marketing organization, your work will be focused within our **SmileShop Dental Marketing and Marketing4ECPs divisions**. These two divisions have their own dedicated leadership team, client base, and operational style, allowing you to work in a focused, nimble environment while still benefiting from the shared resources, culture, and support of the larger POD group.

**Marketing4ECPs** is the original division of POD Marketing and remains a market leader in eye care marketing. **SmileShop Dental Marketing** is a dedicated marketing agency built specifically for dental practices. Our team works with hundreds of optometrists and dentists across North America, helping them grow their practices through tailored digital marketing strategies.

**Job Summary**

As an Intermediate Editor at our agency, you're not just a grammar enthusiast but a connoisseur of language. Your role extends beyond proofreading; it's about enhancing the quality of our digital content by providing constructive feedback, fine-tuning style guides, and occasionally contributing your own writing. You'll work closely with your manager to identify coaching opportunities for our team and maintain the high standards we're known for.

**Functions**
- Training new hires and contractors as needed.
- Creating, updating, and maintaining process and training documentation.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Edit and refine content, with a focus on transforming AI-generated drafts into clear, accurate, and humanized pieces that resonate with clients and audience.
- Contribute to creative campaign concepting, bringing strong copywriting and adwriting skills to brainstorming and execution.
- Stay ahead of industry trends and editorial best practices, introducing new ideas and approaches to strengthen our content.
- Provide constructive feedback to contractors and team members, highlighting strengths and opportunities for growth.
- Train new and existing contributors on editorial guidelines and workflows.
- Maintain and update the internal style guide to reflect evolving language norms and audience expectations.
- Work closely with your manager—providing expertise, recommendations, and input—while aligning with final direction set for the department.
- Deliver consistently on or ahead of deadlines, ensuring high-quality work without sacrificing speed.
- Actively participate in team meetings, sharing insights to strengthen editorial practices within the larger creative strategy.
- Support process improvements and documentation to keep workflows efficient and effective.

**Required Experience & Skills**
- Legally able to work in Canada and located in Calgary, AB
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, or a related field
- Proven experience as an editor, with strong attention to detail and a mastery of English grammar
- Exceptional writing and communication skills
- Ability to provide clear, actionable feedback and to explain complex concepts in an accessible manner
- Understanding of SEO best practices
- Familiarity with user intent and user experience concepts
- Previous experience in teaching or coaching writers
